As the the creator and energy source behind StateShifter, Dr. Allan leads the overall vision, direction, and strategy. As well, he is responsible for providing leadership across all aspects of product design, implementation, management, and human interface technology.
Dr. Allan is also the brains behind Psycho-Cyberbiotics, which, under his direction, is developing advanced, proprietary systems for presently unimaginable mind-based technologies.
He also founded S.T.E.A.L.T.H. Developments, a first-of-its-kind private practice designed to help success-oriented entrepreneurs, leaders, and high-performance individuals—from all over the map—to finally close the gap between their current results and their most ambitious goals, and, more importantly, make quantum shifts in their thinking for exponential and continuous achievement.
Dr. Allan currently serves as an Assistant Professor in Psychology at the University of Canterbury, where he directs the Mind Control Lab. He also facilitates and teaches popular undergraduate and postgraduate programs on human factors psychology (PSYC385: Human Factors: The Forces that Shape Behaviour with Products, Technology, and Systems) and the interface between the mind and success (PSYC488: Mindsets & Mindshifts - The Psychology of Achievement).
His research centers on the new psychology of achievement and success—how we can change, direct, and harness the power of the human mind to unlock greater potential, perform at our best, and achieve success against the backdrop of unrelenting change and the ever-morphing socio-technology chaos swirling around us (think influencers, social media, virtual agents, smart devices, robots, and on and on).
In support of his research, Dr. Allan has won multiple scholarships, funding, and merit-based grants. Additionally, he has published in top-tier academic journals and has presented at international peer-reviewed conferences.
As well, he maintains multi-disciplinary collaborations with several research groups distributed across the globe and serves as a Scientific Advisor to the University of Auckland.
